17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Delights of Fishing," an exquisite hand-coloured etching and aquatint on ivory wove paper created by Charles Turner in 1823, presents a charming and picturesque scene of two anglers enjoying a day at the riverbank in England. The serene and idyllic setting is reminiscent of the British countryside, with a winding estuary in the background, dotted with picturesque buildings and a distant windmill. The anglers, dressed in the fashion of the time, are deeply engrossed in their pastime, their faces reflecting a sense of contentment and camaraderie. The intricately detailed print showcases the artist's mastery of the aquatint technique, with the textured etching bringing to life the rippling water, the feathers of the ducks, and the intricate patterns on the clothing of the anglers. The hand-colouring adds a vibrant and lively quality to the print, with the rich hues of the water, sky, and foliage creating a sense of depth and dimension. The concept of leisure and enjoyment is central to this work, with the anglers taking a break from their daily routines to appreciate the simple pleasures of nature. The presence of the ducks adds a playful and whimsical touch to the scene, while the geographical features of the river and estuary serve as a reminder of the beauty and diversity of the natural world. This print is a testament to the enduring appeal of the outdoors and the joys of friendship, making it a beloved piece in the Heritage Art collection and a must-have for any art lover or collector of 19th-century British art.
