17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

The Circumcision of Christ

EDITORS COMMENTS
by Federigo Barocci captures a poignant moment in biblical history. This exquisite oil on canvas print, part of a private collection, showcases the artist's mastery of the Baroque style and his ability to convey deep emotion through his brushstrokes. In this scene from the New Testament, we witness an intimate ritual that holds great significance in both Jewish and Christian traditions. The young Jesus is presented for circumcision according to Hebrew law, symbolizing his entry into the covenant between God and Abraham's descendants. Barocci's attention to detail brings this ancient tale to life. The figures are depicted with grace and tenderness as they participate in this solemn ceremony. Through their expressions and gestures, we can almost feel their reverence for this sacred act. This artwork not only serves as a visual representation of an important event but also offers us insights into Jewish life during biblical times. It provides a glimpse into the folklore and traditional practices surrounding circumcision within the Hebrew community. As one explores "The Circumcision of Christ" it becomes evident why Barocci was considered one of Italy's finest artists during the Renaissance period. His skillful use of light, color, and composition creates a captivating piece that continues to inspire awe centuries later. This print is not just an aesthetic masterpiece; it serves as a reminder of our shared cultural heritage and invites contemplation on themes such as faith, tradition, and identity across different time periods.
