17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this print titled "ZENGER AND BRADFORD, 1730s" we are transported back to the bustling streets of early New York City. The image captures a significant moment in American history, depicting two influential figures engaged in a rivalry that shaped the future of publishing. William Bradford and John Peter Zenger, both esteemed publishers of their time, stand as emblematic symbols of the power struggle between colonial editors. As we gaze upon this scene frozen in time, we witness William Bradford strolling past Zenger's printing office with an air of confidence and determination. The artist Howard Pyle masterfully brings this historical event to life through his detailed drawing. Every stroke on paper reflects the tension and competition that existed between these two men. Through their respective publications, they sought to shape public opinion and influence political discourse during a critical period for North America. This print not only showcases the artistic talent of Pyle but also serves as a reminder of our nation's early struggles for freedom of speech and press. It is a testament to the patriotic spirit that fueled these rival publishers' ambitions as they navigated the complex landscape of colonial society. As we admire this piece from Granger Art on Demand, let us reflect on how far we have come since those formative years when men like William Bradford and John Peter Zenger fought passionately for their beliefs amidst the vibrant streetscapes of Manhattan.
