23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This color engraving by Paul Revere, titled "The Landing of the British troops at Boston, Massachusetts, on 1 October, 1768 to enforce the writs of assistance" offers a glimpse into a pivotal moment in American history. The image transports us back to the year 1768 when tensions between Britain and its American colonies were reaching a boiling point. In this scene, we witness the arrival of British troops in Boston Harbor as they prepare to enforce the controversial writs of assistance. The bustling cityscape serves as a backdrop for this significant event that would ultimately fuel rebellion and ignite the flames of revolution. Revere's meticulous attention to detail brings every element to life - from the majestic war ships anchored in the harbor to the stoic soldiers disembarking onto American soil. The artist masterfully captures both the grandeur and tension surrounding this historic landing. As we gaze upon this print, we are reminded of how these events laid the groundwork for future conflicts such as quartering acts and intolerable acts that further strained relations between England and its colonies. This visual representation allows us to reflect on our nation's struggle for independence and appreciate those who fought tirelessly for liberty. "The Landing of British troops at Boston" is not just an exquisite piece of art; it is a window into our past - an emblematic reminder of America's revolutionary spirit that continues to shape our present-day values.
