17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this heartwarming photograph from 1939, we witness the incredible bond between two young children at the U. S. Naval Academy's 20th Annual Junior Boxing Championships in Annapolis, Maryland. Meet Dorothy Wood, a spirited five-year-old girl, who is diligently lacing up the boxing gloves of her three-year-old companion, Chuck Andrews. As they sit side by side on a wooden bench, their innocence and determination shine through. Dorothy's tiny hands delicately weave the laces through each eyelet of Chuck's glove while he patiently waits his turn to step into the ring. The scene captures not only their teamwork but also showcases how early these youngsters were introduced to sportsmanship and discipline. Their contrasting ages add an adorable touch to this image; it is evident that Dorothy takes her role as a mentor seriously while Chuck looks up to her with admiration and trust. Their friendship transcends gender norms and societal expectations for children of that era. This snapshot freezes a moment filled with hope and camaraderie amidst the backdrop of competitive boxing matches taking place around them. It reminds us that even in challenging times like 1939 North America, where tensions were high due to looming war clouds across Europe, moments of pure innocence can still be found. The photo serves as a testament to the power of friendship and cooperation regardless of age or gender—a timeless reminder that unity knows no boundaries when hearts are open.
