17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

Submarine Evolution - A Journey through Time

EDITORS COMMENTS
. This print takes us on a fascinating journey through the evolution of submarines between 1863 and 1899. The image showcases an extensive collection of historical submarine models, each representing a significant milestone in underwater exploration. Starting with Bourgeois and Bruns Plongeur in 1863, we witness the birth of these remarkable vessels. As we move forward, Halsteads Cunning Whale (1872), Hollands No. 1 (1875), Garretts invention (1875), Drzewieckis inventions (1877,1879,1884) grace the frame, showcasing the rapid advancements made during this period. The photograph continues to unveil more groundbreaking designs such as Lagannes invention (1881), Davies Demon (1883), Flais invention (1885), Bouchers invention (1885), Nordenfelts invention (1885). It is evident that innovation was thriving during this era as Campbell and Ashs invention (1885) followed by Haight and Woods' creation (1886) join the ensemble. Further along our timeline are Barons invention (1886), Waddingtons invention (1886), D Allests Invention (1886). Lecaudeys Invention (1987) adds another dimension to this ever-evolving story. Gustave Zedes Gymnote's appearance in 1988 marks a pivotal moment in submarine history. As we approach the end of this visual narrative, Perals Invention (1989) stands tall alongside Goubets No. 1 (1989). Forests Invention from 1991 leads us towards Hollands Plongeur from1992 while Zedes No. 2 shares its space with Bakers Invention both from1992. Piatti del Pozzos Invention from1994 leaves room for Hollands No. 3 from1996 before concluding with Romazzottis Morse and Lakes Argonaut, both from 1996
