17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print takes us back in time to an era where nature and art intertwined seamlessly. The old engraved illustration showcases two majestic oak trees, each with its distinct characteristics and charm. On the left, we have the sessile oak, also known as Cornish oak, Irish Oak or durmast oak (Quercus petraea), standing tall with its sturdy trunk and sprawling branches reaching towards the sky. Its presence exudes strength and resilience. On the right side of the print, we are introduced to the common oak, pedunculate oak, European oak or English oak (Quercus robur). This magnificent tree displays a sense of elegance with its graceful silhouette and lush foliage. Its branches seem to dance harmoniously in gentle breezes. The artist's attention to detail is evident in every stroke of this antique illustration. Despite being digitally restored from their original form, these oaks retain their timeless beauty that has captivated generations before us. As we gaze upon this artwork, we can't help but feel a deep connection to nature's wonders. The intricate lines and textures invite us to explore further into the enchanting world of these ancient trees. With copyright long expired on this masterpiece, it serves as a reminder that art transcends time and boundaries. It reminds us of our responsibility to preserve our natural heritage for future generations so they too may find solace beneath the shade of these grand oaks.
