FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

Look Out for the Engine While the Bell Rings, 1863
EDITORS COMMENTS
is a captivating oil painting by American artist John George Brown. This mid-19th century masterpiece captures a moment of anticipation and excitement at a railway crossing. The scene depicts a large group of people, both young and old, eagerly waiting for the train to arrive. In the foreground, we see a young girl with her arms raised in excitement as she looks out for the approaching engine. Beside her stands a boy holding onto his stick, also eagerly awaiting its arrival. The artist's attention to detail is evident in their postures and expressions, perfectly conveying their sense of expectancy. The naturalistic setting adds to the realism of this artwork. A lush green landscape surrounds the railway line, with trees and plants providing shade from the bright daylight. In this outdoor setting, people gather together under parasols and umbrellas to shield themselves from the sun while they wait. Brown's skillful use of light and shadow brings depth to each figure in this composition. Every individual is meticulously rendered with distinct features that reflect their caucasian ethnicity. This remarkable piece showcases Brown's mastery as an American realist painter during this era. With its rich historical context and vibrant depiction of human emotion, "Look Out for the Engine While Bell Rings" continues to captivate viewers even today.
