23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this handcoloured copperplate engraving by Thomas Rowlandson, we are transported to Regency England and witness a whimsical scene of Johnny walking on a moonlit road towards London. Despite the darkness surrounding him, Johnny's presence is illuminated by his vibrant character and unique belongings. Johnny carries with him a sense of adventure as he embarks on his journey, evident in the backpack slung over his shoulder. The contents within reveal his passions and interests - a violin nestled securely inside, ready to serenade the night sky with its melodic tunes. A book peeks out from the pocket of his coat, hinting at Johnny's intellectual curiosity and thirst for knowledge. But what truly sets Johnny apart is the umbrella he holds firmly in one hand. It serves not only as protection against any unexpected rain but also as a symbol of individuality amidst conformity. As he walks along this enchanted road, it becomes clear that Johnny embraces life's uncertainties with grace and charm. Rowlandson masterfully captures every detail of this enchanting moment - from the intricate patterns on Johnny's attire to the ethereal glow cast upon him by the moonlight. Through this artwork, we are reminded that even in our darkest moments or loneliest journeys, there is always room for wonderment and self-expression. This print from William Combes' "The History of Johnny Quae Genus" invites us to join Johnny on his moonlit walk to London, encouraging us to embrace our own uniqueness and find beauty in unexpected places along our own paths.
