23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This comedic portrait captures the essence of Alberto Santos-Dumont, a prominent figure in aviation history. Created by Sem (Georges Goursat) around 1900, this print is part of the collection "Contemporary Celebrities and the Benedictine" housed at Bibliotheque des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. In this caricature, Santos-Dumont is depicted with exaggerated features and a mischievous grin. The artist's playful style brings out his jovial personality, making it clear that he was not afraid to laugh at himself. The glass in his hand suggests a celebration or perhaps an indulgence in fine spirits. Santos-Dumont was known for his pioneering work in aviation and played a significant role in the development of airships and airplanes. His contributions to flight technology made him an international celebrity during the early 20th century. The inclusion of food and drink elements adds to the lightheartedness of this portrait. It reflects both Santos-Dumont's enjoyment of life's pleasures as well as Sem's artistic interpretation. Leonard de Selva skillfully captured this unique artwork through photography, allowing us to appreciate its intricate details even today. This image serves as a reminder not only of Santos-Dumont's achievements but also of the importance of humor and levity in our lives. As we gaze upon this print from Fine Art Finder, we are transported back to a time when laughter filled the airwaves and innovation soared through the skies.
