31"x27" (79x69cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 31x27 inches (787x685mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures a remarkable piece of Roman art: a boxing scene depicted in low relief. The artwork, housed in the Museo della Civilta Romana in Rome, Italy, showcases the ancient Romans' fascination with combat sports and their skillful craftsmanship. The image portrays two human figures engaged in an intense brawl, showcasing the raw violence that was prevalent during those times. The level of detail and precision achieved through carving is truly awe-inspiring. Every muscle and movement is meticulously captured, bringing this ancient scene to life. Nudity was not uncommon in Roman art, as it symbolized strength and virility. This element adds another layer of authenticity to the artwork's depiction of combat sport within the Roman Empire. As we observe this casual yet powerful representation from antiquity, we are transported back to Ancient Rome itself. The sculpture stands as a testament to the rich cultural heritage left behind by our ancestors. It serves as a reminder of their artistic prowess and their deep appreciation for physical prowess. This photograph beautifully captures every intricate detail of this bas-relief wooden carving. Its inclusion among other archaeological artifacts further emphasizes its significance within historical context. Through this image, we can appreciate both the artistic mastery involved in creating such sculptures and gain insight into one aspect of daily life during ancient times - where athleticism met artistry on a grand scale.
