23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

Fire - The 'Red Monster' in Old-Time Britain, illustration from Newnes Pictorial Book of Knowledge
EDITORS COMMENTS
. Step back in time and witness the awe-inspiring power of fire as depicted in this illustration. Created by the talented artist C. Dudley Tennant, this colour lithograph transports us to old-time Britain, where primitive man first tamed the 'Red Monster'. The scene unfolds within a rocky cave, providing shelter for a family of cavemen. In the foreground, we see a male figure intently striking flint against rock to create sparks that will ignite tinder. His fur-clad companion watches with anticipation as they harness nature's force. Intriguingly, it is not just adults who are captivated by fire's allure; children too gather around their parents to observe this momentous event. Their wide-eyed curiosity reflects humanity's eternal fascination with progress and discovery. Tennant skillfully captures the essence of prehistoric life through intricate details such as animal skins draped over shoulders and crude tools scattered across the cave floor. This snapshot into our ancient past reminds us of our ancestors' resourcefulness and resilience. As we gaze upon this artwork, let us appreciate how fire transformed early societies - providing warmth during harsh winters, enabling cooking for sustenance, and offering protection against nocturnal predators. This print from Bridgeman Images serves as a visual portal into an era long gone but forever imprinted on our collective memory. It invites contemplation about mankind's journey from primitive
