23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print transports us back to the enchanting Dutch canals of 1867. The image, captured by the talented artist Andries Scheerboom, showcases a vibrant scene brimming with life and activity. As we gaze upon this snapshot from history, we are immediately drawn into a world where river trade thrived and boats were an integral part of daily life. The composition is teeming with various types of vessels gracefully navigating the canal waters. From majestic sailboats gliding effortlessly through the currents to sturdy tugboats diligently guiding larger ships, each boat plays its role in ensuring smooth transport along these bustling waterways. The charm of this scene lies not only in its depiction of maritime commerce but also in capturing snippets of everyday existence. We catch glimpses of people going about their routines on board these vessels – sailors meticulously tending to their duties, merchants engaged in animated conversations, and perhaps even families enjoying a leisurely cruise amidst picturesque surroundings. Scheerboom's masterful use of light and shadow adds depth and dimension to every element within the frame. The play between sunlight dancing on rippling waters creates a mesmerizing effect that further enhances our immersion into this historical moment frozen in time. As we admire this remarkable piece from Bridgeman Images' collection, it serves as a poignant reminder that beyond being mere modes of transportation or tools for trade, boats have always been conduits connecting communities while weaving stories that transcend generations.
