23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

Delivering Dinner, 1841 - A Glimpse into Victorian Home Delivery

EDITORS COMMENTS
. This print, "Delivering Dinner, 1841" by George Scharf the Elder takes us back to a bustling street in mid-19th century Germany. The scene depicts a young child dressed in traditional Victorian clothing, carefully carrying a tray of hot food through the crowded streets. The artist's meticulous pencil strokes bring to life every detail of this nostalgic moment. From the child's neatly tied bonnet and buttoned-up coat to the elegant top hat worn by an observer nearby, we are transported to an era where fashion played a significant role even in everyday activities like meal delivery. Intriguingly, this artwork offers us a glimpse into the past when home delivery was not just limited to modern conveniences but was already an essential part of daily life. It reminds us that long before apps and online platforms made it effortless for meals to arrive at our doorstep with just a few taps on our smartphones, there were dedicated individuals who took pride in ensuring that families received their dinners promptly. As we contemplate this evocative image captured over 180 years ago, let us appreciate those unsung heroes who quietly went about their duties - delivering sustenance and nourishment right to people's homes. This artwork serves as both a testament to their hard work and dedication while also reminding us of how far we have come since then.
