23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

The Brides of the Sea, 1855

EDITORS COMMENTS
is a captivating oil painting by Giuseppe-Lorenzo Gatteri that transports viewers to a vibrant celebration in 19th century Italy. The artwork, displayed at Museo Civico Rivoltello in Trieste, captures a momentous ceremony taking place on the shimmering waters. In this lively scene, we witness an enchanting procession of beautifully adorned women sailing gracefully on gondolas. Dressed in colorful and intricate floral attire, they exude femininity and elegance as they glide through the waterways. The air is filled with joyous festivities as crowds gather along the banks to witness this remarkable spectacle. The composition showcases Gatteri's mastery of capturing movement and atmosphere. Each brushstroke brings life to the bustling crowd and adds depth to the rippling waves beneath the boats. The artist's attention to detail is evident in every aspect of this piece - from the delicate flowers adorning each woman's hair to the skillfully painted gondoliers guiding their vessels. "The Brides of the Sea" not only celebrates Italian culture but also serves as a reminder of how art can transport us through time and space. As we gaze upon this mesmerizing print, we are transported back to an era where grand ceremonies were held on Venetian waters - a testament to both human creativity and our enduring fascination with celebrations that unite communities. This stunning artwork from Bridgeman Images invites us into a world filled with color, beauty, and cultural richness – reminding us why art continues to captivate audiences across centuries.
