23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This aerial view showcases the traditional way of life in Uganda's Karamoja region. The photo print, captured by Nic I'Anson from EyeUbiquitous, offers a unique perspective down onto a traditional manyatta cattle korral. As one gazes at this image, they are transported to the heart of Africa, where centuries-old customs and practices still thrive. The vastness of the landscape is awe-inspiring; it stretches as far as the eye can see, reminding us of both the beauty and challenges faced by those living in this central African country. The intricate network of walled enclosures within the korral serves multiple purposes: defense against external threats and desertification prevention being just a couple. In this snapshot frozen in time, we witness how agriculture sustains these communities. Cattle ranching plays a vital role in their subsistence lifestyle – providing food, transportation, and even acting as an indicator of wealth. It is through farming and livestock that these resilient people combat poverty while preserving their cultural heritage. Beyond its aesthetic appeal lies a deeper narrative about development projects aimed at uplifting marginalized regions like Karamoja. This photograph silently speaks volumes about the need for sustainable initiatives that respect local traditions while addressing pressing issues such as desertification. Nic I'Anson's lens has successfully captured not only an incredible visual spectacle but also an opportunity for reflection on our shared responsibility towards creating a more equitable future for all Africans.
