23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print takes us back in time to the ancient city of Naxos, Greece, where the magnificent Temple of Demeter stands proudly. As we gaze upon this illustration from the renowned book "Harmsworth History of the World" published in 1908 by Ken Welsh, we are transported to a world filled with sacred mysteries and profound spirituality. The Temple of Demeter was not only a place of worship but also served as a famous sanctuary for those seeking enlightenment through the Sacred Mysteries of Eleusis. In its heyday, this grand structure would have been an awe-inspiring sight, adorned with intricate carvings and surrounded by lush greenery. As we immerse ourselves in this visual representation, we can almost hear whispers echoing through its hallowed halls - secrets passed down from generation to generation. The air is thick with reverence and anticipation as initiates prepare themselves for initiation into these sacred rites. Through this image captured by Ken Welsh's skilled lens or pen stroke, depending on his medium, we are reminded that history has left behind countless treasures waiting to be discovered. This photograph serves as a reminder that even though centuries may separate us from our ancestors' lives and beliefs, their legacy continues to inspire and intrigue us today. Let us cherish such glimpses into our past and honor the rich cultural heritage that has shaped our present reality.
