Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print titled "Cranmer At The Traitors Gate" transports us back to the 16th century, immersing us in a pivotal moment of English history. The image depicts Thomas Cranmer, an influential figure and the first Protestant Archbishop of Canterbury from 1533 to 1556. Engraved by C. W. Sharpe after Frederick Goodall's original work, this black and white illustration exudes a sense of historical grandeur. The scene unfolds at the Tower of London, specifically at the infamous Traitors Gate. This gate holds significant symbolism as it was used to bring prisoners into the tower during Tudor times. As one of the key figures responsible for establishing Protestantism within the Church of England during King Henry VIII's reign, Cranmer played an instrumental role in shaping English religious identity. This engraving serves as both a visual feast for history enthusiasts and an homage to Cranmer's enduring legacy. Its inclusion in "Illustrations Of English And Scottish History". Volume 1 further solidifies its significance as a valuable piece documenting crucial moments that shaped our understanding of religion and politics in medieval England.
