31"x27" (79x69cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 31x27 inches (787x685mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph takes us back to the historic Gallipoli campaign in August 1915. The image showcases the bustling activity at Anzac Cove, Turkey, as supplies are being amassed prior to the allied attacks on Lone Pine and Sari Bair. In this snapshot frozen in time, we witness a scene filled with urgency and preparation for battle. A group of male soldiers stand together in formation, their faces etched with determination and resolve. They are surrounded by an array of essential tools and provisions - barrels, crates, oil drums - all meticulously organized to ensure efficiency during this critical military operation. The presence of various vehicles such as ambulances and lorries highlights the logistical challenges faced by the army during wartime. These modes of transport were crucial for moving troops and supplies across treacherous terrain. The stark contrast between light and shadow adds depth to this poignant image, emphasizing both the gravity of war and the resilience displayed by these brave soldiers. The historical significance is palpable; it serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made during World War I. As we reflect upon this powerful photograph from Australian Views' collection curated by Hulton Archive/Getty Images, let us honor those who fought valiantly at Gallipoli while acknowledging that war leaves an indelible mark on our collective history.
