Introduced Species Invasive Wasp Wasps At Nest
23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

Buzzing into Boston - European Paper Wasps Take Over the City, One Nest at a Time!
EDITORS COMMENTS
. In this print by John Cancalosi, we get a glimpse of the notorious CAN-2126 European Paper Wasps in action. These feisty females were introduced to the Boston area all the way from central Europe back in the 1980s and have since spread their wings coast to coast across the United States. With their striking open combs nests and primitive eusocial behavior, these invasive insects are causing quite a buzz as they displace native species throughout North America. Known for their carnivorous diet, these wasps feast on caterpillars like true insect warriors. But it's not just their hunting skills that make them stand out - males sport curved antennae while females flaunt straight ones. Talk about fashion-forward! Captured in this snapshot is an entire group of these audacious wasps diligently tending to their nest. It's truly fascinating how such tiny creatures can create such intricate homes. So next time you spot one of these buzzing beauties around your neighborhood, remember that they're not just any ordinary wasp - they're part of an ecological tale unfolding right before our eyes. And thanks to talented photographers like John Cancalosi, we can appreciate both their beauty and impact on our environment without getting too close for comfort!
