17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph captures the essence of ancient Egyptian art, showcasing three Ptolemaic age bronze statuettes that are now housed in the prestigious Louvre Museum in Paris. The statuettes depict the powerful Goddesses Sekhmet and Isis tenderly breastfeeding the young Horus, a scene rich with symbolism and mythology. Dating back to 306-30 BCE, these exquisite works of art provide a glimpse into the religious beliefs and cultural practices of ancient Egypt. The attention to detail is remarkable, as each figure is meticulously crafted with intricate headdresses, fashionable clothing, and wigs that reflect their divine status. Isis, known as the divinity of the Osiris cycle, represents fertility and motherhood while Sekhmet embodies power and protection as a lioness-headed goddess. Together they nurture Horus, who holds significant roles as both a hybrid divinity and an animal divinity. The inclusion of Aten -the solar disk- emphasizes their connection to nature while highlighting their divine presence. This artwork serves not only as an artistic masterpiece but also provides valuable insights into African history and ancient civilization. Captured by Alinari Fratelli in 1908, this photograph preserves these incredible sculptures for generations to come. It serves as a testament to human creativity throughout time while reminding us of our fascination with mythologies that have shaped cultures worldwide. Displayed within one of the world's most renowned museums -the Louvre Museum- these statues continue to inspire awe among visitors from all corners of the globe. Their significance lies not only in their aesthetic beauty but also in what they represent: timeless stories passed down through generations about gods, goddesses, love, nurturing instincts, and humanity's eternal quest for understanding its place within this vast universe.
