17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph captures a remarkable piece of art, the "Nativity" sculpture from Giambologna's school. The artwork is prominently displayed in the left portal panel of the Cathedral of Pisa, showcasing its grandeur and significance. Dating back to 1595, this masterpiece represents the Mannerism and Renaissance-Baroque styles that flourished during Europe's First and Second Millennium A. D. It depicts a scene from the life of Christ, specifically focusing on the birth of Jesus. The artist skillfully portrays various elements such as angels, figures, and natural phenomena like clouds and meteorological events. The print itself was taken between 1920-1930 by Brogi from Alinari. Despite being captured decades ago, it still manages to convey every intricate detail with clarity. As we delve into this image, our eyes are drawn to the central figure - Mary holding baby Jesus in her arms while surrounded by shepherds dressed in ancient costumes representative of that period. The clergy stands nearby as witnesses to this divine event. Notably present are acanthus plants adorning the surroundings; their herbaceous leaves symbolize fertility and eternal life often associated with religious iconography. Giambologna's exceptional craftsmanship shines through every aspect of this sculpture – from delicate facial expressions to meticulous drapery folds – all meticulously carved out in marble or stone. This photograph serves as a testament not only to Giambologna's artistic prowess but also highlights how art can transcend time and continue inspiring awe even centuries later.
