23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this evocative black-and-white photograph, we find a woman deeply engrossed in the pages of a newspaper, oblivious to the bustling activity around her on the streets of Havana, Cuba. The image, taken by renowned photographer Pavol Stranak, captures a moment of quiet introspection amidst the vibrant energy of the Caribbean city. The woman sits on the top step of a set of worn, red doors, her silhouette framed by the sunlight filtering through the cracks in the wooden slats. The doors themselves, with their faded paint and peeling edges, tell a story of time and wear, much like the creased and aged newspaper in her hands. Behind her, a car passes by, its tires leaving a trail of dust in the dusty Havana street. People go about their daily business, some stopping to glance at the woman, while others are lost in their own thoughts. The scene is one of everyday life in Havana, a place where the past and present intermingle, and where the simple pleasures of reading the news on a sunlit stoop can be a source of comfort and connection. The photograph captures the essence of Havana, a city rich in history, culture, and character. The woman's focused expression and the worn, weathered doors provide a poignant reminder of the passage of time and the enduring human need for knowledge and connection. This image is a testament to the power of a single moment, frozen in time, to transport us to another place and time, and to remind us of the beauty and complexity of the world around us.
