Time-exposure of polar star trails. The Pole Star, Polaris, is the short bright trail just off centre. The circular formation of the star trails is a result of the Earths revolution in relation to the fixed stars. The different colours of the star trails results from the different intrinsic colours of the stars themselves, ranging from blue-white, through white and yellow, to orange.
