. In this print from Memory Lane Prints, we are transported back to the year 1981, where a group of young boys from Bewley Junior School in Billingham embarked on an extraordinary football journey. Led by their dedicated assistant manager Harold Shepherdson, who happened to be associated with Boro (Middlesbrough Football Club), these talented youngsters were given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The image captures the excitement and anticipation on their faces as they proudly pose alongside their teddy bear mascot, believed to bring them luck throughout their upcoming matches. These boys had every reason to feel confident as they had recently been crowned Cleveland County Champions in the English Schools Football Association Six-A-Side Championship sponsored by Smiths Food Group. Their triumph earned them a place in the North-East Regional Finals held in Sheffield. The stakes were high as only the winners of this tournament would proceed to represent their area at none other than Wembley Stadium - every young footballer's dream destination.
