Led by their dedicated assistant manager Harold Shepherdson, who happened to be associated with Boro (Middlesbrough Football Club), these talented youngsters were given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. These boys had every reason to feel confident as they had recently been crowned Cleveland County Champions in the English Schools Football Association Six-A-Side Championship sponsored by Smiths Food Group.
