Poster Prints are of comparable archival quality to our Photographic prints, they are simply printed on thinner Poster Paper. EDITORS COMMENTS
This historical print captures a tender moment between Princess Helena and her eldest child, Prince Christian Victor. Born in Windsor on April 14, 1867, Christian Victor was known as Christle within the family. He went on to attend prep school, Wellington College, Oxford, and Sandhurst before joining the army. Tragically, Christian Victor died of enteric fever while on active service during the Boer War. Despite his untimely passing, this image immortalizes a time when he was still young and full of promise. Princess Helena herself led a remarkable life as Princess Christian of Schleswig-Holstein (1846-1923). She was deeply involved in charitable work and played an important role within the royal family. This photograph serves as a poignant reminder of her maternal love for her son. The details captured in this print - from their expressions to their clothing - provide a glimpse into the past and offer insight into the lives of royalty during that era. It is not just a picture but a piece of history frozen in time, waiting to be explored by those who come across it.
