This evocative photograph captures the historic LCC-LFB Isle of Dogs fire station, located at 461 West Ferry Road in East London. Built by the London County Council in the 1920s, this magnificent fire station was a vital part of the local community and firefighting services in the area. The fire station, which was subsequently renamed Millwall fire station, was home to a number of fire engines and a dedicated team of firefighters. The pump house, located at the rear of the station, housed the powerful fire engines that were ready to respond to emergencies 24 hours a day.
