This portrait by the renowned Spanish painter Sebastián de Herrera Barnuevo (1619-1671) showcases a young Charles II of Spain (1661-1700) surrounded by his ancestors. Painted around 1667, the artwork is a testament to the rich history and lineage of the Spanish monarchy. The young Charles II is depicted in an upright, colorful oil painting, bathed in daylight that illuminates his features.
