This exquisite 15th century print captures the harmonious union of the gods and muses, presided over by Apollo, the god of music. The celestial bodies, represented by the planets Mercury, Venus, Sun, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and the moon, Luna, are connected to their respective muses through allegorical symbols. Apollo, depicted with his lute, symbolizes the harmony and order that governs the universe. The eight muses, each identified by their symbols and attributes, are depicted in the scene.
