Royal College of Physicians. 18th-century artwork of the courtyard of the College of Physicians at Warwick Lane, London, England. This institution received its royal charter from King Henry VII in 1518, becoming the Royal College of Physicians. The building shown here replaced one lost in the Great Fire of London of 1666. It was designed by Robert Hooke and opened in 1675. The Royal College of Physicians moved to new premises in 1799, and in 1888 the hall of the Worshipful Company of Cutlers was erected here. This engraving was published in 1724
