AIDS disables the immune system, rendering the victim liable to a number of fatal infections. The virus (designated HIV - Human Immunodeficiency Virus) enters the T4 cell where its genetic material (in the form of RNA) is translated into DNA, & may subvert the cells DNA into making copies of the virus, which bud from the cell wall & destroy the host cell.
