The engraving showcases two remarkable watercraft from the ancient Roman world: a trireme warship and a smaller boat, both adorned with battering rams. The trireme, a formidable naval vessel of the Roman navy, boasts three decks of oars, each manned by a crew member. The prow of the ship is adorned with a monster's head, symbolizing the power and intimidation it brought to the battlefield. The ram, a sharp, pointed object at the ship's front, was used for ramming enemy ships during combat. The swords attached to the ram added an extra layer of destruction.
