Rover the dog.
Owned by Mr J Greece, of Clumber Terrace, Derby, Derbyshire. To this dog, little Gladys Kent, aged eight years old, owes her life. She had fallen into a deep canal and was being carried away by a current. Rover seeing this jumped form a high bridge into the water and dragged the child to the bank.
