Born in North Kingston, Rhode Island in 1755, he later moved to Boston, Massachusetts. This print was published shortly after Henderson's death as a tribute to his exceptional acting skills. Gilbert Stuart lived in London from 1775 to1793 and became well-known for his paintings during that time.
