EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the vibrant and diverse marine life found in the Egyptian Red Sea. In the foreground, two Sohal surgeonfish, also known as tangs, gracefully swim over a magnificent coral reef. Their striking blue bodies contrast beautifully against the colorful backdrop of corals and tropical fish. The Sohal surgeonfish is native to tropical waters in the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf. Its name originates from the sharp spine located at the base of its tail, which serves as a defense mechanism against potential predators. This particular species boasts an orange-colored spine that adds to its allure. Measuring up to 40 centimeters in length, these stunning creatures have become popular choices for aquarium enthusiasts due to their remarkable beauty and resilience. However, it's important not to overlook their significance within their natural habitat. In this image, we can see a shoal of sergeant major fish swimming behind them, creating a mesmerizing spectacle of movement and color beneath the surface of the ocean. The photographer has skillfully captured this moment in time, allowing us to appreciate both the delicate balance and breathtaking wonders found within our planet's underwater ecosystems.
