EDITORS COMMENTS
In this heartwarming photo print, we see Anne Kidd, a retiree from the Laing Group, sitting on a table beside her retirement gift - a Magimix food processor. The picture captures a special moment during Anne's farewell presentation at Regent Street in the City of Westminster, Greater London. Anne joined the Laing Group back in May 1972 and served as their dedicated Public Relations Officer. Throughout her career, she played an instrumental role in organizing numerous regional functions and ensuring smooth operations within the company. Her commitment and dedication to her work were truly commendable. To bid farewell to such an esteemed colleague, the Marketing Department of the Building Division organized a special lunch at Bob Barnes' Mill Hill home. However, it was not just limited to that; even the Public Relations Group arranged a heartfelt farewell for Anne at Regent Street where she had been based for eight years. During this emotional event, Anne was presented with both a beautiful bouquet and the coveted Magimix food processor as tokens of appreciation for her invaluable contributions over the years. This photograph perfectly encapsulates not only Anne's joy but also serves as a testament to her remarkable journey within Laing. As we admire this snapshot captured by Historic England Archive photographer Joh, let us celebrate Anne Kidd's well-deserved retirement and wish her all the happiness in this new chapter of life.
