The Relief of Lucknow - The Historic Meeting of Havelock, Outram, and Sir Colin Campbell, November 1857, (1901). Meeting betweeen British officers Major General Sir Henry Havelock, Lieutenant-General Sir James Outram, and Field Marshal Colin Campbell. The siege of Lucknow was one of the major engagements of the uprising against British rule in India which began in 1857. The city was besieged by mutineers for 87 days from the outbreak of the mutiny until a British force arrived on 25th November 1857. After a painting of 1859 in the National Portrait Gallery, London.
