This photograph captures the momentous occasion of the official opening of Tower Bridge in London, on 30th June 1894. The iconic bridge, an engineering marvel of its time, spans the River Thames and connects the North and South banks of the city. In this image, taken from the east, we see the bridge in all its glory, with the Tower of London and the city skyline in the background. The bridge's two towers, each adorned with four ornate turrets, stand tall and proud, framing the opening of the bridge's bascules.
