Bevelled wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 archival quality photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, the Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. This photograph captures the momentous occasion of the official opening of Tower Bridge in London, on 30th June 1894. The iconic bridge, an engineering marvel of its time, spans the River Thames and connects the North and South banks of the city. In this image, taken from the east, we see the bridge in all its glory, with the Tower of London and the city skyline in the background. The bridge's two towers, each adorned with four ornate turrets, stand tall and proud, framing the opening of the bridge's bascules. The bascules, which were raised to allow the passage of tall ships, are shown in the process of being lowered, creating a sense of movement and dynamism. The River Thames is calm and reflective, mirroring the elegant curves and lines of the bridge. A number of boats and ships can be seen on the water, adding to the bustling scene.
