Born in Lancashire, England, Arrowsmith was educated at the English College in Douai, France, where he was ordained a priest in 1610. Upon his return to England, he worked tirelessly as a missionary, ministering to the Catholic community and providing spiritual guidance to those in need. Despite the dangerous political climate, Arrowsmith continued his missionary work, often traveling in disguise to avoid capture. However, on March 26, 1628, he was apprehended in Lancaster and brought before the authorities.
