Underwater Atlantis

Underwater Atlantis. Artists impression of the ruins of the mythological city of Atlantis under the sea. The Greek philosopher Plato made the first written references to Atlantis in 360BC. He suggested that Atlantis was located on an island at the mouth of the Pillars of Hercules in what is now called the Strait of Gibraltar. Despite many expeditions, the existence and location of Atlantis has not yet been confirmed. Legend has it that Atlantis was destroyed by a great flood and was submerged beneath the sea around 9600 BC

This print titled "Underwater Atlantis" takes us on a journey into the depths of mythology and history. The artist's impression showcases the ruins of the legendary city of Atlantis, which has intrigued scholars and explorers for centuries. According to Greek philosopher Plato, who first mentioned Atlantis in 360BC, this mythical city was believed to be situated on an island near the Strait of Gibraltar. However, despite numerous expeditions and searches, its existence and exact location remain unconfirmed. Legend tells us that around 9600 BC, Atlantis met its tragic fate when it was engulfed by a catastrophic flood and submerged beneath the sea. This image beautifully captures the eerie remnants of this once-great civilization now hidden beneath oceanic depths. The illustration depicts ruined buildings adorned with pillars that stand as silent witnesses to a lost era. The searchlight illuminates these underwater remains, adding an air of mystery and intrigue to this ancient archaeological site.
