Sir Stafford Northcote (Afterwards Lord Iddesleigh), 1900. Northcote (1818-1887) first entered Parliament in 1855 as Conservative MP for Dudley. He held various cabinet posts in his political career including Chancellor of the Exchequer (1874-1880) and Foreign Secretary (1886-1887). He was created Earl of Iddesleigh in 1885.
