This print from the 1920s showcases the Countess of Dufferin, Canada's first steam locomotive to operate in the prairie provinces. Produced as a collectible cigarette card by the Westminster Tobacco Co Ltd, it offers a glimpse into Canadian transportation history. The image captures the majestic engine with its cowcatcher leading the way through a picturesque landscape. The Canadian Pacific Railway logo proudly adorns its side, symbolizing progress and connectivity during this era. The Countess of Dufferin stands tall against the backdrop of rolling hills and open countryside, representing both industrial advancement and harmonious coexistence with nature. As we admire this vintage print, we are transported back to a time when steam trains were at their peak popularity.
