Martyrs to the cause....these men.....and one woman led the 1916 Rebellion. They were not Quite the mould of Bolshevik revolutioinaries. They included poets, scholars, and several of noble birth. The woman Countess Markevicz and two men had their death sentances commuted to hard-labour for life. One of those two men was Eamon De Valera (bottom row) who Escaped to Become his countrys elder statesman.This lauditory broadsheet was printed soon after the rising failed.
