A view of the Tregothnan landing place looking towards Malpas with a view of the houses along the top. The gentleman on the far left is Mr Allen, the ferryman, with his daughter Laura, aged 7. The little boy is William Allen and the other man on the ferry. The other man is probably a ferry hand. On shore is a milkman with a horse drawn milk cart carrying churns. Partly visible is an old sailing ship moored in the river. Photographer: Argall (probably Frederick Ernest Argall).
