This vintage print captures the essence of a bygone era, showcasing an advertising counter card for Digger tobacco from 1924. The focal point is a striking depiction of a rugged man's head and shoulders, his weathered face adorned with a thick beard and mustache that speak to his experience and wisdom. He wears a stylish hat atop his head, adding an air of sophistication to his appearance. A colorful neckerchief adorns his neck, providing a touch of vibrancy to the overall composition. The text on the card proudly proclaims "The best of all Empire Grown Tobaccos" alongside the iconic brand name "Players". This image serves as both an advertisement for Digger tobacco and a testament to Nottingham's rich history in the industry. While not explicitly mentioned, it is evident that this male figure epitomizes masculinity and embodies the spirit associated with smoking tobacco during that time period. With pipe in hand, he exudes confidence and allure. John Player & Sons may not be directly referenced here, but their influence on Nottingham's tobacco heritage cannot be denied.
