Norfolk. Nelson - Born Burnham Rectory 1758, BR (ER) poster, 1960. Poster produced for British Railways (BR). Eastern Region (ER), promoting rail travel to Norfolk, showing Lord Nelson (1758- 1805) on board ship during a sea battle. Nelson was born at Burnham Rectory in Norfolk, and in 1805, during the Napoleonic wars, became commander-in-chief of the Mediterranean fleet on board the flagship HMS Victory. He was mortally wounded during the Battle of Trafalgar later that year. Artwork by Lance Cattermole. Printed by Waterlow and Sons Ltd, London and Dunstable. Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame.
