Norfolk. Nelson - Born Burnham Rectory 1758, BR (ER) poster, 1960. Poster produced for British Railways (BR). Eastern Region (ER), promoting rail travel to Norfolk, showing Lord Nelson (1758- 1805) on board ship during a sea battle. Nelson was born at Burnham Rectory in Norfolk, and in 1805, during the Napoleonic wars, became commander-in-chief of the Mediterranean fleet on board the flagship HMS Victory. He was mortally wounded during the Battle of Trafalgar later that year. Artwork by Lance Cattermole. Printed by Waterlow and Sons Ltd, London and Dunstable.
