Framed Print of Eight and nine year olds from Highburton First School left behind their cosy classrooms

Eight and nine year olds from Highburton First School left behind their cosy classrooms for the windswept moors above Slaithwaite to learn the art of drystone walling. The class was joined at Delves Moor Farm by teenages from Colne Valley High School, already trained in walling techniques, rural studies teacher Mr Paul Webley, himself a waller and Mr Kenneth France, a Master Craftsman in the age old art. Fifteen year old Kae Mann passes on her experience Jenny Pickup, 9, and Lisa Clarke, 10. 31st January 1989. © Mirrorpix
