Ramblers raised almost 2, 000 for Snowball by walking just over 10 miles
Ramblers raised almost 2, 000 for Snowball by walking just over 10 miles. Eighty-three people from nine Coventry walking and rambling groups took part in the walk through Allesley Hall Park to Keresley and back. Dave Edwards, Coventrys deputy Lord Mayor, led the group aged between 11 and 80 years on the sponsored event. Brian Keates, a committee member of Coventry CHA Rambling Club and author of the Evening Telegraphs Country Walks series was delighted with the walks success. He Said: " I d like to thank the families and friends who supported us. It is their goodwill you call upon when you take part in an event like this." This is the second year the clubs have walked for Snowball - last year the Coachmakers Club in Radford Road helped them raise 3, 000. Mr. Keates, of Eastern Green said the annual walk was really the only opportunity all the clubs had to get together. Our photograph shows Brian Keates (seated) with other people who helped raise nearly 2, 000 for Snowball by taking part in a sponsored walk.

Ramblers Raise Almost £2,000 for Snowball by Walking Just Over 10 Miles
EDITORS COMMENTS
. In this heartwarming print captured on the 16th of February 1991, we see a group of determined individuals who have come together to make a difference. Eighty-three people from nine Coventry walking and rambling groups took part in a sponsored walk through Allesley Hall Park to Keresley and back, all in support of Snowball. Led by Dave Edwards, Coventry's deputy Lord Mayor at the time, this diverse group ranged in age from 11 to 80 years old. The event was organized by Brian Keates, committee member of Coventry CHA Rambling Club and author of the Evening Telegraphs Country Walks series. His gratitude towards the families and friends who supported them is evident as he acknowledges their goodwill that makes such events possible. This wasn't the first time these clubs had walked for Snowball; last year they raised an impressive £3,000 with help from the Coachmakers Club in Radford Road. However, beyond fundraising efforts, this annual walk served as a unique opportunity for all participating clubs to come together and strengthen their bonds. The photograph captures Brian Keates seated among other passionate individuals who played their part in raising nearly £2,000 for Snowball through this inspiring sponsored walk. Their dedication reminds us that when communities unite with a common goal, incredible things can be achieved.
